Four athletes will talk about building LGBTQ-athlete support groups: Caroline Mattise, tennis, Monmouth Univ.; Jaden Vazquez, football, Fordham Univ.;Jaide Hinds-Clarke, basketball, Univ. of Richmond; Maggie Grossman, soccer, Fordham Univ.
Four college athletes join us to share their experiences building support groups for LGBTQ student-athletes. A big part of supporting LGBTQ athletes is finding ways they can support one another. The organization GO! Athletes offers that virtually on a national level, yet athletes still find resources on their own campuses to be important to their growth.
On Thurs, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET, Outsports and GO! Athletes will host a virtual conversation on Zoom with four athletes who have helped create organizations on campus to do just that. You can register for the event here.
They’ll offer their insights and experiences in building these organizations and support networks so that LGBTQ athletes on their own campus can find a place to ask questions, problem solve, and celebrate and support one another.
They’ll also talk about how administration and coaches have helped them in their efforts to build these support groups, and also what other assistance they could use.
Joining the conversation will be:
Maggie Grossman, soccer, Fordham Univ.
Jaide Hinds-Clarke, basketball, Univ. of Richmond
Caroline Mattise, tennis, Monmouth Univ.
Jaden Vazquez, football, Fordham Univ.
You can register for the Oct. 22, 8 p.m.ET event by clicking here, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers. See you then.
